Finally blogging
Well, I’ve finally started blogging. I did some experiments with blogging software about half a year ago, but at that time I thought I had little to blog about. Recently I realised I do have stuff to blog about…
I use Blosxom as the software for this blog. It was one of the few blogging software packages that can generate static HTML files. It has an interesting architecture: it has a minimalistic kernel (less than 450 lines of Perl) and an easy-to-use plugin structure - it took me just a few minutes to install and use a calendar and an archive plugin. I also wrote a simple plugin myself to provide basic wiki-style text formatting (it took me about an hour or so).
About the title: I got it from Ton Zijlstra (thanks!) who blogged about dreaming about blogging. The word dreamfeed felt like a nice title for a blog.
